Twilight, Loved it!

Ok so here I go finally posting. It has been crazy the last three weeks or so. Brett got sick and then Ryan got sick and then Brett got sick once again. So needless to say I got no sleep. But finally the got better and Ryan went back to school! Then finally after such a long wait, it was time to see Twilight. I had been waiting for this since I had found out that they were making a movie. I got to go to the midnight showing with one of my best friends Jenny. When

she went to pick up our tickets, the guy let her know that it was sold out and it would be wise to get there at least 2 hours early. He also said that others said they were going to be there at 7 to start lining up. So at 6:30 her and I went out to dinner. She wore her Edward Cullen shirt. While we were at dinner she had me take her picture and make sure we got the full shirt. After it was around 7:30 and I knew I was going to need some caffeine so we ran to 7 11 and I got a Code red. I figured that would keep me up. Then we got to the theater and we were the 4th and 5th in line. So we knew we were going to to get the seats we wanted. about 10 minutes later another 4 people showed up and that was it for the crazy people who got there so early. Jenny and I played Phase 10 and chatted. That was fun. It had been over a year since her and I had gotten together with no children. About 9 or so more people started so show. And when it came time for the movie to start the theater was full of 400 hundred people, most were women, few men and even a few young grade school girls, which I don't agree with but that is just me. I didn't go into the movie with high expectations and I think that is why I loved it so much. I had read and watched a lot of interviews so I knew there were things in movie that they added or changed. I knew that they were not going to be able to put everything in the movie, but I feel like they did a great job. I laughed more than I expected and I didn't cry, although I wanted to a a few parts! But overall I think the main thing they got right was Robert and Kristen. They had incredible chemistry which, for me, the main part of this series. So overall I was very pleased. We got home about 2:30ish and I couldn't go to sleep until 3. I then had to get up and get ready and get Ryan to school, so I was going on about 3 1/2 hours of sleep, but it was so worth it. Then I was lucky enough to go Friday night with another one of my best friends Denise. We left at 5:30 cause I was told that it was sold out also. But we only got there about 1 hour before the movie started. That was a lot of fun also. I hadn't seen Denise for quite some time and I really enjoyed the time we spent together. Also I liked the movie even more the 2nd time around and I would go again.! Kinda sad I know.

A Shelli Challenge

So I was reading Shelli Gardner's blog, she is the co-founder and CEO of Stampin Up, and I saw this challenge and decided I would try it out. I have never submitted any of my work to Stampin Up, just send a picture to friends or family. But I decided to be brave and submit a card finally. I love Thanksgiving time. I love getting together with family and of course the yummy food! As much as I love it, it can also be kinda sad. All my family lives in Idaho so I don't get to see them on Thanksgiving very often. I have lived in Oregon since Sept. 1993 and I think my husband and I were able to make it there for one and then I had my family here one year, but that was not a fun year. My mom was really sick when she was here and got admitted to the hospital. They flew her to SLC and several days later we found out she had Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. She was in the hospital for Thanksgiving day. Not fun at all. But I love my in laws so much and enjoy the time we get to spend together with them and the rest of the family we don't see very often. And I am very thankful to have them in my life.
This card was a lot of fun to make. I used all Stampin Up punches. I have to say I am addicted to their punches!! Since the card is a 4.25 x 4.25 size card I made an envelope to fit it. I found the envelope directions at Stampin' Academy. Love the site. Well off to submit before I chicken out!

For this card I used: Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/8 Circle punch, 3/4 Circle punch, 1/4 circle punch, and Boho Blossoms punch. Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Old Olive, More Mustard, Really Rust, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie and retired Fall Flowers Designer Paper. I sponged around each punch with matching ink. Old Olive, More Mustard, Really Rust, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie to add a little dimension and then Black Stazon, Basic Black Stampin Up writer for the eyes. Stamps: Pictograms

So I figured I better get a picture of Ryan's chin before we get the stitches out! We went in tonight and had them removed. 4 people told him it won't hurt. He didn't believe any of us. And he was right. He had a big scab that was pulling and then they said he healed pretty fast and so the stitches were stuck in there. She really struggled getting them out. In fact once it was hurting pretty good and he was shaking his fist and almost punched her. oops. But we got them out. Poor kid. I just hope he doesn't have to go through this again. But he survived and is excited cause he doesn't have to be so careful to not get them wet. And I think he feels like he can be a bit more like himself again.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! The boys were so excited to go trick or treating tonight. I have no clue why! We first went to see Grandpa and Grandma and a few other houses by them. We were meeting my friend Jenny and her daughter Kassie and go with them around their neighborhood. Man what a neighborhood to go to. We started at 5:30 and by 6:30 we had their buckets full. Ryan was actually not wanting to go to any more houses. He was done. We then came home and decided to do the few houses in our neighborhood. But Matt convinced them that we should do some more houses and get more candy. Even after seeing their buckets full. So we did our neighborhood and our old neighborhood and the few houses in between. I asked them if they wanted to go to some more and get more candy and they both said "No, we want to go home." They had gotten their buckets 1/2 full. And then they find out that daddy says tomorrow they can just go nuts and eat candy all day if they want, even all gone. I do not know what he is thinking. I think I may make plans to be gone for they day!!!!!! But they sure had fun.

Ryan oh Ryan

Ok. So I am starting to wonder what we are going to do with Ryan. Tonight he was riding his bike. He was doing a jump and his handlebars went funny and he crashed. He comes in screaming. I sit him on the couch to see what is wrong, took one look at his chin had Matt come over and then Ryan and I were in the car heading to Urgent Care. We got in pretty fast and got things rolling but we still had to wait a bit for the Dr. we had a male nurse Ramon come in and was wonderful getting Ryan ready to see the Dr. He was very calming. He showed us a picture of him in Iraq and the three medals he received there. He had gotten one for saving some soldiers that were trapped in a Humvee that were upside down in water and they weren't breathing and gave CPR and brought them back and then also the purple heart. He told Ryan he knows how it feels to be scared but it is going to be alright. He was just awesome. So anyway he had put some medicine on some cotton balls and tapes it to his chin to start numbing. The Dr. came and started the shots. Ryan was doing really well. Then they discovered the numbing worked great on the bottom part of the gash but not so well on the top part. So there was a few times it hurt a bit and then one part where I didn't even know Ryan could scream that loud. But he got through it. He ended up with 17 stitching. Poor kid. We were there for two hours. I get home and Matt had gotten Brett ready and they both went to get dinner. That was the best thing Matt could have done for me. Just that much less stress. During the Dr, visit we noticed that he had a scraped up elbow and then I knew of his pinky, which he was more concerned about that then his chin on the way. So we hurried and put a banaide on it while there, but it didn't work, so we had to put a new one on. He wanted the wrap on it so it wouldn't fall off during the night. He had a good cut on his pinky. It was then, when he saw the cut on his pinky he said "Man that was a big crash." I was like you are right it was. It didn't hit him when they gave him a mirror to see his stitches that is was a big crash but when he saw his pinky that did it for him. Ryan oh Ryan. Matt turned on the Muppets for them to watch. It ended at 8 so I was ready to get the boys in bed, but here comes Matt. He sat down with the boys and turned on another episode. So needless to say it was almost 9 before they got to bed! I hope we have a fairly easy night tonight.
